Almwaya is a project by Maya Aghniadis (Flugen) and Wael Sami Elkholy, two composers with their own musical languages. Maya and Wael met in Switzerland in 2020 where they directly connected on various levels and composed their first track Bea.
After a two week residency in Athens, their album Riding a Camel in the Middle of the Sea was born. An eight track storyline merging both of their musical realms influenced by the mediterranean sea.
An electro-acoustic approach that reflect the colors of deserts, mountains and seas.
The sound of Almwaya follows a flow that ignores barriers and expectations.

A merge of electronic beats, synthesizers and experimenting with objects, sounds, different dialects and gibberish words.
