Before anything… There was listening.
This was the first encounter in sound with Pamalka Manjitha Karunanayake in Sri Lanka.
No plan. No structure. Just presence.
A beginning that already carried the whole journey.
To fully appreciate a moment, you have to live it with complete presence. That was the spirit behind this encounter, when my friend Pamalka invited the wonderful tabla player Lakpiya Abesinghe to join our improvisation recording session.
